Releasing my Hobby Project for Fun

Hi everyone, my name is Craig and I'm a hobby dev from Ontario, Canada. I've been self taught learning how to make games over the past several years and I'm releasing my first title on Steam next week.

Floops Big House Adventure, coming to Steam August 21!

Shoot, loot, and toot your way through Floops Big House Adventure! Floops is a 90's Saturday morning cartoon arcade/roguelite twin stick shooter.

Grab a gun, score some upgrades, and help defend Floops house from monstrous invaders!

Inspired by classic 90's cartoons, Floops combines fast paced gameplay with nostalgic 90's graphics.

Arcade style action will have you trying over and over again as you learn the best item combinations to defend Floops house.

Floops was started as a side project to my first attempt at a game, LUMEN: Lost Passages, a pretty metroidvania featuring a lantern wielding protagonist. When LUMEN couldn't be finished we moved onto finishing Floops.

Floops art was created as a love for all that classic 90's art style. Beavis and Butthead, Ren and Stimpy, Simpsons and Rugrats are all clear inspiration for our chaotic art style. 2D animation and cartoons are still a favourite of mine to this day.

At some point during a project you need to decide to release it, and that day has come for Floops! Our marketing budget nonexistent, we have nothing but our humble arcade/roguelite hobby game and are eager to share it with people.

Making hobby games is difficult and I'm proud I've been able to release a game at all. Myself and my hobby partner Dylan chipped away at this game over the course of 3 years, bringing it first to mobile platforms and now to Steam.

Buttery Games has always been about fun. We build games for fun, and we hope you have fun playing them. We are going to keep making games in the foreseeable future and appreciate all your support for us.

My message for all hobby devs is to keep at it! Making a game is daunting but if you enjoy it then keep trying.

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy. If you liked our video and images Wishlist us on Steam!
